A friend kindly donated to us a table that they no longer needed for our new house:
We decided to make it fit in better, we needed to sand it back and give it a wax.
A belt sander worked well for this:
The previous varnish was difficult to remove, but with a coarse grit on the sander, it came off eventually.
After a final sand by hand with some fine sandpaper, we were ready to wax:
Some brush on beeswax was the wax of choice – brush on, wait ten minutes and then buff out.
All in all, we are really happy with how it went!
